About this puzzle
Big, bold letters and fewer, longer words: an easier-on-the-eyes easter story word search. From the hosannas of Palm Sunday to the empty tomb. An Easter story word search with the Last Supper, the garden of Gethsemane, the cross at Calvary and the stone rolled away. It suits Holy Week lessons, Easter programs and quiet reflection.
The large print edition uses an 11×11 grid that fills a letter-size page, and words only run across, down or diagonally down.
All 20 words in this theme: Jesus, Palm Sunday, Hosanna, Donkey, Supper, Gethsemane, Cross, Tomb, Stone, Risen, Angel, Easter, Jerusalem, Bread, Cup, Peter, Calvary, Linen, Mary, Garden.
Talk about it
Questions to share while solving, for activity groups, memory care or a visit with family:
- What did Easter Sunday look like in your family when you were young?
- Did you have a special Easter outfit or hat?
- Which Easter hymn do you know by heart?
- Have you been to a sunrise service? Where was it?
- Did your church hand out palm branches on Palm Sunday?
Activity tip: Use the puzzle in Holy Week. Once everyone has finished, place the found words in story order, from Palm Sunday to the empty tomb, and read the matching verses in turn.
Questions
How big are the letters?
The grid fills most of a letter-size page, with letters about one and a half times the size of a regular (Medium) word search, and the word list is printed in large type too.
Are these suitable for memory care or activity groups?
Yes. Words only run left to right, top to bottom or diagonally down, so the puzzles are relaxing rather than tricky. Print as many copies as your group needs.
Is there a harder version?
Every theme also has a regular print edition with Easy, Medium and Hard levels.
