What makes it large print
- Big, bold day numbers, set in 36-point type, in a plain typeface with no thin strokes.
- Thick black grid lines and short weekday names in capitals across the top, starting with Sunday as on most US calendars.
- Holidays written out in full at the bottom of the square, so nobody has to decode small symbols.
- Plain black on white, so it prints clearly on any home printer and is easy to photocopy.
2027 holidays on the calendar
Federal holidays plus the days most families and activity calendars mark, including the two weekends when the clocks change. Holidays that follow the lunar calendar, such as Hanukkah or Ramadan, are not printed; write them in from your own calendar.

Tips for printing and hanging it up
- Print on US Letter paper at 100% (“actual size”). On A4 paper choose “Fit to page”.
- Heavier paper or card stock lasts the whole month on a fridge or a clipboard.
- Punch two holes at the top and tie the pages with string or a binder ring, so turning the month takes one move.
- Use a thick black marker for appointments; it stays readable from a distance, just like the numbers.
For activity directors
The blank activity calendar has the same large grid with a small box for the date in each square, so one master copy works for any month: fill in the dates, then the activities, times and places, and copy it for residents and families. For the activities themselves, our weekly activity pack gives you five large print puzzles for each week, and today’s puzzles has a fresh page every day.
Day of the week signs
Seven pages, one for each day, with “Today is” and the name of the day as large as the page allows (capital letters about an inch to an inch and a half tall), plus a line to write the date. Put the right sign on a door, a board or next to the clock each morning; many families and care homes use them to answer the question “What day is it?” at a glance.
Questions
Is the calendar really free?
Yes. Print as many copies as you like for your home, family, classroom, senior center or care home. No sign-up.
Does the week start on Sunday or Monday?
On Sunday, as on most calendars in the United States.
Why is December 2026 a separate file?
So you can print it now and start using it before January. The 2027 file has exactly twelve pages, January to December.
How big are the numbers?
The day numbers are set in 36-point bold type, more than a third of an inch tall, and the month name is larger still. Each square is about an inch wide, with room under the number to write.
