About this puzzle
A large print baking crossword full of flour, butter, cookies and cinnamon. The answers are kitchen words that bring back the smell of a warm oven.
On paper the squares are about .61 inches wide, roomy enough for shaky handwriting or a thick marker. The PDF is laid out like a large print puzzle book: the 12×10 grid has page one to itself, the 12 clues are printed at 18 point on page two, and the answer key is on page three. Lay the first two pages side by side and solve without squinting.

Talk about it

- Is there a recipe you know by heart without looking?
- What was the best part of baking day: licking the spoon or eating the result?
- Which baked treat would you make for a special visitor?
Activity tip
Ask everyone to bring or remember one favorite recipe. Read a few aloud after the puzzle and count how many answers from the grid appear in them.
Questions
Can we pair it with a baking activity?

Can I print copies for a care home or activity group?
Yes, free for personal, classroom and non-commercial group use. The word bank PDF lists all 12 answers for an easier start.
