How to use a rubber bridge score sheet
- Write your side’s scores under We and the opponents’ under They.
- When a side makes its contract, write the trick points for the tricks it bid below the line.
- Everything else goes above the line: overtricks, penalties for the other side’s failed contracts, slam and honors bonuses.
- When a side has 100 or more below the line, it has won a game. Draw a line across both columns below the scores; the next game starts from zero below the line.
- The first side to win two games wins the rubber and its bonus. Add up both columns; the difference is the result.
Rubber bridge scoring table

| Each trick bid and made: ♥ ♠ | 30 | 30 |

| Overtrick, doubled / redoubled | 100 / 200 | 200 / 400 |
| Making a doubled / redoubled contract | 50 / 100 | 50 / 100 |
| Undertricks, undoubled (each) | 50 | 100 |
| Undertricks, doubled: 1st / 2nd and 3rd / each after | 100 / 200 / 300 | 200 / 300 / 300 |
| Small slam bid and made | 500 | 750 |
| Grand slam bid and made | 1,000 | 1,500 |
| Rubber in two games / in three games | 700 / 500 | |
| Honors: 4 trump honors / all 5 or 4 aces at no trumps | 100 / 150 | |
| Unfinished rubber: one game / part score only | 300 / 100 | |
Doubled tricks below the line count twice their value and redoubled tricks four times, and redoubled undertricks cost twice the doubled amounts. A side that has won one game is vulnerable. These are the current rubber bridge values; some older rule books differ on a few small items, so agree on them at the start.
Duplicate and Chicago bridge
This sheet is designed for rubber bridge, the usual home game. Chicago (four-deal) bridge and duplicate tournaments use different score cards with one line per deal. For Chicago at home, many players simply use the rummy score sheet and write one deal per line.
Questions
What does “below the line” mean?
Only points for tricks you bid and made go below the line; they are the ones that count toward the 100 points for a game. Everything else is written above the line.
Is there an on-screen bridge scorer?
Not yet. Bridge scoring depends on the contract, doubles and vulnerability, so for now we offer the printable pad and the table above.
Why use the large print sheet?
Bridge is often played in the evening around a card table; bigger columns and a thicker line are easier to read and write in for everyone.
Can I copy these sheets for a club or senior center?
Yes. They are free to print and copy for home, club, senior center and other non-commercial use.
