Why print four per page?
Four puzzles per page saves paper and ink and fits a folder or clipboard neatly. The squares are still 0.39 inches wide, about the size of a newspaper grid or a little larger, with bold numbers and thick lines around each 3×3 box. Sixteen puzzles fill four pages, followed by the answer key at six answers per page.
The mixed sheet puts one very easy, one easy and two medium puzzles on each page. It works well as a warm-up for a puzzle club, or for a family where each person takes the level that suits them.
Ideas for using four-per-page sheets
- Morning work: one sheet per student per week, one puzzle a day.
- Waiting rooms and travel: fold a sheet into a pocket or bag.
- Puzzle races: everyone gets the same sheet; the first correct solution wins.
- Brain warm-ups: a quick very easy puzzle before a harder task.
Levels
| Level | Clues given | What it takes | Time |
|---|---|---|---|
| Very easy | 45–46 | Every empty square has only one possible number once you look along its row, column and box. | 10–15 min |
| Easy | 36–37 | Adds the “only place in this row” step: a number that can go in just one square of a row, column or box. | 15–25 min |
| Medium | 29–31 | Fewer clues, and you will need that second step often. Still no guessing. | 25–40 min |
