How the daily sudoku works
- Three new puzzles appear every day around midnight US Eastern time, one for each level.
- Everyone sees the same puzzles that day, wherever they are, so you can compare notes with family or a group.
- Missed a day? Use Previous day to go back up to 30 days.
- Every puzzle has exactly one solution and can be solved step by step, with no guessing.
Which level is right for me?
| Level | Clues given | What it takes | Time |
|---|---|---|---|
| Very easy | 45–46 | Every empty square has only one possible number once you look along its row, column and box. | 10–15 min |
| Easy | 36–37 | Sometimes you also need the “only place” step: a number that fits in just one square of a row, column or box. | 15–25 min |
| Medium | 29–31 | Fewer clues, and you will need that second step often. Still no guessing. | 25–40 min |
For groups and activity directors
Print the day’s three puzzles in the morning and let everyone choose a level. Because the puzzles are the same for the whole day, people who solve at home can join the conversation too. The answers are on the last page, so you can keep them aside or hand them to a volunteer. For a mixed pack with a large print word search as well, use today’s puzzle pack.
Keep a streak
Solve the day’s puzzle on screen and the page keeps count of how many days in a row you have done it. The count is stored only in your own browser on this device: there is no account and nothing is sent to us.

Is the sudoku of the day free?
Yes. Solve it on screen or print it as often as you like, free for home, classroom and group use. No sign-up.
When does a new puzzle appear?
Around midnight US Eastern time (05:00 UTC). Until then you see the current day’s puzzles, wherever you are.
Can I play yesterday’s sudoku?
