How to play Veterans Day bingo
- Give each player a card; no two cards in the set are alike, and the center square is free.
- Call the words in any order, such as “Air Force” or “Liberty”. The caller screen on this page shows each word in big letters and keeps track; the PDF has a caller’s list to cut up.
- Five in a row across, down or diagonally wins. For other ways to win, see the bingo patterns.
Play Veterans Day bingo with clues
For a livelier game, read a clue instead of the word and let the players work out the answer before they mark it. Six to start with:
- The newest branch of the armed forces, formed in 2019. → Space Force
- The agreement that stopped the fighting of World War I. → Armistice
- The date of Veterans Day every year. → November 11
- Metal tags with a service member’s name, worn on a chain. → Dog Tags
- The branch that guards our coasts and rescues boats at sea. → Coast Guard
- The bird on the Great Seal of the United States. → Eagle
About these cards
A respectful Veterans Day bingo with the branches of the armed forces, the flag, the parade and the ways we say thank you, for classrooms, church groups and senior center programs on November 11.
Ideas for your Veterans Day bingo game
Play it as part of a Veterans Day program: before the game, invite veterans in the room, if they would like, to say which branch they served in, and point out the free space in the middle of every card: “Thank You”.
For a senior center, use the large print cards and call each word slowly, adding a sentence of explanation, such as what the Armistice was or which branch is the newest. Small flags or patriotic pins make simple prizes.

Questions
Is this bingo appropriate for a solemn program?
Yes. The words are about service, the flag and saying thank you; words tied to mourning, such as Taps, are left out of the game. It works best as a light, friendly part of the day, after the more formal moments.
Can I add names of local veterans?
Yes. Press “Edit the words” to add names of veterans from your family, church or town, then print a fresh set.
What is the difference between Veterans Day and Memorial Day?
Veterans Day, on November 11, thanks everyone who has served. Memorial Day, in May, remembers those who died in service.
