How to play icebreaker bingo
- Give each person a card and a pen. Write your own name in the middle square.
- Walk around and find someone who matches a square. Ask them, and write their name in it.
- Each person can sign only one square on your card.
- The first player with five names in a row wins. For a longer game, play until someone fills the whole card.
About these cards
Human bingo, the classic icebreaker: players walk around and find a different person for each square, then write that person’s name in it. Great for the first day of school, team meetings and family reunions.
The PDF has 30 different cards, two per page; the large print PDF has one big card per page. Cards are free for home, classroom and group use.
Ideas for your icebreaker bingo game
Human bingo gets people talking in the first ten minutes of a new class, a team offsite or a family reunion. Because each card has a different mix of prompts, players can’t copy each other and have to talk to many different people.
For a short debrief, ask a few players to share the most surprising thing they learned, such as who has ridden a horse or who can juggle. It’s an easy way for a teacher or team lead to learn names and spark follow-up conversations.
